The Saskatchewan Government and General Employees’ Union encourages its members and their dependants to learn throughout their lives.  Our Scholarship and Bursary Directory lists more than $65,000 in scholarships and bursaries for post-secondary education, including labour studies.  The 2016 directory can be viewed by clicking on the link below:

Winner of the 2016 Environment Scholarship is Rena Guo of local 1101. Rena's field of study is chemical engineering with an environment concentration.

2016 Occupational Health and Safety Scholarship

The 2016 SGEU Occupational Health and Safety Scholarship of $500 is available to all SGEU members in good standing, their spouses or dependants.
Award to the successful applicant will be made on the basis of a 500 word essay, WRITTEN IN YOUR OWN WORDS, about what Occupational Health and Safety is and/or
what it means to you and workers' rights.

To apply: The scholarship details and Application Form and are available on SGEU’s website at

Complete and submit the Application Form, the 500 word essay, confirmation of enrollment in an accredited school and a copy of the SGEU membership card of the applicable
member in good standing.
If applying by mail, the application MUST BE RECEIVED in SGEU’s Head Office on or prior to the deadline of August 31, 2016.
